Learn more about the Treeing Walker Coonhound.

Hi! My name’s Roxanne and I’m an adorable (so I’ve been told) 4 year old hound. My eyes can melt your heart and my floppy hound ears are so soft! That’s what my foster mom says, at least. While I’ve been living with my foster family they have been teaching me all kinds of great things that I never knew! I’ve learned where to go potty (not on the rug!), how to walk nicely on a leash, and not to play with things that aren’t mine. I LOVE to play with toys, and I love to play with my foster brother, another hound who is bigger than me. I am a very rough and tumble girl, and wrestling is my favorite way to play with other dogs. But I like to relax, too, and I really enjoy cuddling-I’m very affectionate! I like going to the dog park, going for rides, and going for walks and runs. I have a lot of energy, but when I’m tired, I’m happy to take a nap in my crate. I like children just fine, but I haven’t met a cat yet, so I can’t tell you much about them. My ideal family is an active one where I could get lots of exercise. If you have a fenced in yard, I would love it! Come to CARA to check me out if you think we would be a good match!

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred  that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
