Learn more about the Doberman Pinscher. To see more animals for adoption, please visit the CARA Website Let me tell you about my bad day.... I was wandering down the road looking for something to eat when I was unexpectedly apprehended & shoved into a cage in the bed of a big white truck . I started shakin' like a leaf on a tree. It only took a day for the people they called animal control officers to figure out I'm really a nice guy. I even heard 'em say, "We can't let him go down. Let's call CARA." And that's how I ended up here. I'm in a foster home now because that kennel just scared me to death. I think I heard someone call me a baby. Imagine, a dog my size being a scared baby! Rusty appears to be a purebred red Dobie. His tail is docked but ears are not cropped. He is housetrained and leash trained. Rusty prefers the company of humans and submissive female dogs (no other males). He needs a strong, experienced pet owner. No children under 12. Rusty is current on vaccines including Bordetella, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, neutered, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in adopting Rusty, please fill out an online adoption formAdoption Form or e-mail us at cara@cara-nc.org.

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life.
