Ever seen those T-Shirts that say: Who's your Daddy?! It should actually read: Who's your Bette Midler!

You see, I am the Queen of the Night (and Day) around here..... If Calliope lets me! .....I was born one tough and special Kitty and when you look at me, you will understand. I have an extra toe on each front paw and am also a Bobtail. Meaning: You should walk in the Cat Room and should easily recognize the most special Kitty in there (Hope the Others didn't hear me!)! It's not that I am imperfect, it's the Others that are imperfect! (Autsch! Stop biting my tail!) I am a very special Beauty and haven't found too many Cats that look as beautiful as I am. And I have enough self-confidence and courage to stand up to anybody!

My buddy Zeke was a CARA Cat long ago and we lived in this awesome home with our Mom, who loves us very much. But she had to go to a place where she couldn't take us; and she knew that the safest place for us is CARA, until we find a new home. She was really heartbroken. And Zeke and I love and miss her very much. We really miss all the attention she gave us and how she spoiled us rotten. And sometimes when I lay here at night, I wish I could be home again in a place as nice as hers.

Can you see how special I am? Are you as lonesome and bored as I am? Please come and take me home. I am fiv/felv negative, up to date on my shots and will be spayed.

Our adoption fees are:
Dogs: $250
Cats: $95
Puppies under 4 months: $235 plus Spay/Neuter Deposit: $100
Kittens under 4 months: $70 plus Spay/Neuter Deposit: $100

All pets available for adoption have been spayed or neutered (unless under 4 months please read about our adoptions here ), are current on vaccinations and preventatives, and micro-chipped. Cats have been tested and confirmed negative for Feline AIDS and Leukemia. Dogs have been tested for heartworm disease.

Our shelter is located at 42 Deep River Rd in Sanford and is open Tues, Thurs,  & Fri from 3pm - 7pm & Sat from 10-2pm (other times available by appointment). CARA's adoption process and online application can be found at  http://www.cara-nc.org/info/adoption

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred  that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them.
