I am Katie and I am a Australian Cattle Dog, also called Blue Heeler. Now you wonder why I mention that!? Because I was bred to be a working dog, very smart and to stand up to animals much larger than me. I come standardized with a lot of brains and energy and I am known to be protective of those I am in care for (with other words: Those I love!).

I haven't been here long and they really don't know me yet, but I defiantly like to be pet. And I seem to be a gentle girl for a dog that is used to herd cattle in my homeland.

I am not exactly fond of all the other dogs barking at me from the other side of the fence, but then again, I haven't met them yet. Maybe I do like a Gentleman Dog in my home better. Those females can be so annoying.

I started on my shots and preventatives and I will be spayed before I go home with you. But if you have room for a loving girl like me, I will be available after 8-January.

It is CARA's policy to keep any new animal entering the facility in quarantine for 10 days. During this time animals are kept in isolation to ensure their health. They can not be adopted or visited until after their release date!

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred  that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
