Learn more about the Whippet.

My name is Eska! I am a beautiful whippet mix. I was found as stray! In the Alaskan Inuit language my name means "the creek", although I have little to do with creeks, it is a beautiful name for a beautiful girl!!

Currently I am working on packing on some lbs. When I first came into CARA I was so terrified by all of my fellow rescue buddies barking so loud, and by the concrete walls. My volunteer humans tried to comfort me but I would shake all day and night due to stress and fear. I was unwilling to eat because of this, and this was so concerning because I came in underweight. I have recently been placed in an amazing foster home! YAY ME!! I am taking things slow, but have already decided it is safe to eat a full meal!! Once I learn that humans are not going to hurt or abandon me, I am going to make an amazing adventure pup...I just know it!!

I am cat and dog friendly. I am looking for someone with a gentle touch and a sweet, calm atmosphere.  I am soooo deserving of a good home. Follow my journey and if you are looking for the sweetest soul in the form of a doggo...then I'm your girl!!! Please make an appointment to meet me, as I am in a foster home!

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
